The Bissett Perspective

● By Jeremy Bissett
We are three months away from starting the NFL playoffs on January 11th, 2025. Seven weeks into the NFL season, the league landscape is beginning to take shape. With surprising upsets and standout performances defining the early weeks, the race for playoff positions is heating up—and so is the anticipation for the 2025 NFL Draft. Teams struggling to find their footing are already eyeing the next crop of talent, while those in contention are looking to solidify their rosters with the impending trade deadline quickly approaching. In this mock draft, I’ll explore how the current NFL standings could influence team strategies, highlight key prospects who could be game-changers, and project where each team might go as they look to build for the future. The current standings have brought some surprising developments compared to my preseason mock draft. I didn’t expect the Cincinnati Bengals to have a 2-4 record and a top-10 pick. On the other hand, it’s equally shocking to see the Minnesota Vikings starting the season at 5-0 with Sam Darnold leading the way. Another standout performer is Jayden Daniels, whose MVP-caliber start to the season has propelled the Washington Commanders to a 4-2 start, placing them at the top of the NFC East. While it’s still early in the season to make definitive judgments, many teams outside these outliers are performing right on target with expectations.
