Nashville Tennessean

● By Nick Suss
There's no rule that says the Tennessee Titans, if they intend to make a deal, must trade the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft with a team that needs a quarterback. We're still early in the draft process, and the Titans have given every indication that they're willing to use the No. 1 pick on a great player if they deem one available. That means quarterbacks Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders have to be on the table, along with edge rusher Abdul Carter and do-it-all skill player Travis Hunter. But conversations around the Titans trading the pick are ultimately dominated by questions about which teams would be desperate enough to leverage their futures betting on Ward or Sanders. It's conceivable, however, that a team without a major quarterback need could still want to move up for Carter or Hunter, especially if that team feels it can extend its championship window with one or two pieces. Let's inhabit that world today as we make our way through a mock draft where trades are in the mix, and the Titans use that to acquire assets for the present and future.
