We are now in the home stretch of the draft evaluation process and soon NFL teams will make their selections of which players they will add to their teams during the 2021 NFL Draft. For the most part, teams will have their board set and have a pretty good idea of who they are targeting for their first-round pick. Back when I scouted in the league, the weeks leading up to the draft were filled with mock scenarios where we do mock drafts with the staff and go through live exercises to discuss what we would do if the unexpected happens. Teams want to be as prepared as possible come draft day and never want to be caught by surprise with what happens in front of them in the draft. Now that we have the information from free agency and pro days, our mock drafts will look a lot different than they did back in January and February. Team needs have changed and players' stocks have risen and fallen over the last few months. Because of that, the player-team fits we thought made sense earlier in the year now may not match up.
