The Kansas City Chiefs agreed to terms on a trade that will send star defensive back L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and a seventh-round swap this year. While the compensation for Sneed was relatively modest, Kansas City is in an enviable position heading into April’s draft, which is chock-full of young defensive backs who could be available late in the first round. From Alabama products Terrion Arnold and Ga’Quincy “Kool-Aid” McKinstry to Mizzou standouts Ennis Rakestraw Jr. and Kris Abrams-Draine, the Chiefs should have no problem finding a replacement for Sneed, even if it is unlikely that they could replace his production one-for-one as a rookie.
