With so much of last season’s 11-win team returning and Cleveland down to five picks, there’s not much surrounding the Browns and this month’s draft. I get it. I’m a total draft dork, and I find it difficult — even before the complication of waiting 53 picks to begin — to get excited about what the Browns might add. There’s not one super-pressing need. That should be taken as a positive. General manager Andrew Berry prefers to view the draft as a vehicle for the future, and the state of the roster has allowed Cleveland to do that. The Browns need to add young legs to the defensive line. Somewhere along the way, they could probably use depth at linebacker, tight end, offensive line and running back. We don’t know how soon the team believes players like Jack Conklin and Nick Chubb might be back from serious injuries, further complicating what’s already a guessing game.
