The 2022 NFL Draft class for John Schneider and Co. will go down as one of the best in franchise history. Two starting offensive tackles (Charles Cross, Abraham Lucas), two starting cornerbacks (Tariq Woolen, Coby Bryant), and a superstar running back (Kenneth Walker) all in one offseason is absurd. Second-round edge rusher, Boye Mafe, has improved exponentially since the beginning of the season. His three sacks don’t jump off the screen, but with a full offseason of development under the veteran coaching staff, the sky is the limit with the former Gophers’ ceiling. Geno Smith is the elephant in the room and will continue to be until the team decides on his future. In all likelihood, a short-term pact makes sense for both sides. The Seahawks get a bridge starter for at least one season, giving them the option to take a quarterback this draft or next.
