Analyzing and covering the NFL Draft is an exhaustive process. It’s a challenge to watch the tape and understand exactly what pops off the film and translates from college to the pros. Years ago, I did very little research ahead of the NFL Draft. I’d wait and see who the Bears selected and studied the tape then. Over the last few years, I’ve tried to watch all the projected top 50 to top 75 prospects to have a good idea of what teams might be doing through two days of the draft. For the first time this season, I decided to construct a big board. I watched the tape on over 120 prospects and tried to get a feel for each player. This is not a Chicago Bears draft guide and is not a predictive board to try and guess where these players will go. This is simply my evaluation of each player and where I would rank them everything being equal. Yes, I lean more heavily on the more important positions so if two players are graded similarly and one is a QB and one is a safety, the QB is going to get the nod.
